Alessandro’s inclination for drawing has its roots in his early years growing up in Sicily, with a particular fascination for cartoons and fairy tales.

His love for the world of illustration thrived at the School of Fine Arts in Palermo. These years were then followed by a Master in Graphic Design at the IED in Rome.

He has published several picture and illustrated books, as well as organising a number of workshops for children in schools,
bookshops and libraries. He has collaborated with different publishing houses as graphic and editorial consultant, and with quite a few communications companies as graphic designer and illustrator.

His work is influenced by the style and genius of Gabriel Pacheco, Jean-Michel Folon, Gianni De Conno, Lorenzo Mattotti, Paolo Domeniconi, Gérard Du Bois.

His motto is: “A picture book is the first gallery a child visits” (Květa Pacovská).
